Instead of following the ideals of a patriarchal society, Charlie found herself dissatisfied by the boundaries of her family’s inherent values. However, her mother was not the only one who was trapped in this set construct, as the whole family was molded into one entity of stagnancy, and Charlie constantly seemed like the odd one out.
